If you have a website or Blog, it’s my guess that you have heard of Google Adwords, Google Adsense, or maybe both.

But which one is right for you?

This week I thought I’d try to clear things up, and also show you how PPC (Pay-Per-Click) advertising can be a wonderfully cost-effective way to drive targeted traffic to your site or Blog.

What is the difference between Google Adsense & Google Adwords – and which one should I use?

Google Adsense is for website owners and Blog publishers who want to make money by placing advertisements from other companies and/or products on their website or Blog.

When you place CPC (cost-per-click) Adsense on your site and visitors click the ads, you get paid by Google.

How much you get paid -- Google won’t say, but I think it’s reasonable to expect “cents” per click as opposed to millions of dollars per click…

But if you are curious, simply visit Google and enroll to find out how much you can make.

It’s a totally free program to join.

Google Adwords is a form of  direct online marketing – which allows you to have ads for your business or product within Google’s “Sponsored Results”.

When you pay for Google Adwords, your ad is geared to show up along the top or right side of Google’s regular (organic) search results -- but only when someone enters a search word or phrase that matches the keywords you have associated with your Adwords campaign.

With the PPC Adwords model, you do not pay for your ad in a traditional manner.

You only pay for your ad when somebody clicks the advertisement.

Which means you are paying for results – the beauty of Adwords!

Jump On In.

You can start a Google Adwords campaign for as little as $5 – and you can set your own daily ad spending limits as you see fit.

That’s the good news.

The not so good news is that Google Adwords takes time to learn.

Success with an Adwords campaign will depend upon how well you manage your keywords, bidding strategies, and whether you are delivering relevant content or not.

But don’t worry.  You’ll get plenty of help with your campaign directly from Google.

So why not get started with a Google Adwords campaign and start boosting traffic to your website or Blog – or maybe make a few bucks from Google Adsense!
